Sallysmom I would guess this one to be a wild mustard, perhaps wild mustard, Sinapis arvensis,. There is another yellow field that could be the Bitterweed. It looks more like an aster relative yellow flower.
Typically it is wild mustard, if it is similar to our Md. area. Beautiful.Christopher,I guess you know how blessed you are to live in a place where such sights are commonplace. Suburbs are a blight on society. Or - maybe they could all grow wild mustard instead of grass (:
There is a yellow weed in our county that has overtaken the fields this spring. It smells good but the farmers are having a difficult time getting rid of it. It might be one of those weeds that has become immune to Roundup.
P.S. I love the new header. It is so springy. ;) I haven't changed my header in years. I don't remember how. I should do a whole redo. I don't have the gumption to do it though. I can't seem to post right now.Writers block I guess. I am so pleased with the way my garden looks right now. Nothing out of the ordinary but I like it.
I'm trying to get winter mustards to naturalize in my tiny garden a little bit; slight success so far. Besides the bright yellow flower, I appreciate the fragrance.
Looks like somewhere in England, not that I have been to England...but if I had , I am sure this is what I would see. Thanks ! Gina
