The Vibration Of The Bear
I had one fleeting chance to get a picture and this is what I got. Somehow it speaks to my chemo state of mind. I like the landscape painting quality found in the vibration. Click for a bigger picture.
I don't know about you, but it's always a thrill for me to see a bear. We always want to get a photo, but the last couple of times, I just relaxed and enjoyed the view.
My daughter, her now-husband, and a friend came upon a grizzly as they turned a blind corner while hiking in the Tetons. Thank goodness, he was about 75 yards away, but he saw them, and the friend was calm enough to get a picture. They backed away slowly, and he moved on. Thank goodness.
I've heard that black bears are easily spooked by humans, but I saw a video recently of a photographer in NJ who was approached by one, and all the yelling the photographer did didn't shoo him away. He strolled toward the guy, came within inches. A wildlife expert watched the video and said the guy was lucky to get away ... the bear was "cupping" one of his front paws toward him, in a move that's intended to swipe someone's legs out from under them.
I like the photo too, especially when enlarged--a Monet-like quality.

The more you know ... eek.
Yikes! Where are the cats?!
ReplyDeleteI don't see the bear very often, but then I haven't spent this much time at home since I was building the cozy cabin.
ReplyDeleteBetter you than me...
