I'm happy to see that you've had success with this kind of mulch. I've tried many kinds, always avoiding wood chips, and it hasn't been working. I'm going to take the chance and try it out. Thanks for your help and for great, convincing pictures.

Barbara Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17160788737819920480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2611983692965659884.post-25609737650502355002012-08-04T23:01:37.012-05:002012-08-04T23:01:37.012-05:00Thanks for dispelling the conventional wisdom on t...Thanks for dispelling the conventional wisdom on this - Ive just relocated to Australia and have mulched my garden with eucalyptus chips. Everybody is telling me that it will kill my veggies. My gut says they'll withstand whatever's in the wood.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09778172815063389928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2611983692965659884.post-17435868116151252092011-06-12T17:16:10.054-05:002011-06-12T17:16:10.054-05:00Such good news - We got about 12 yards of wood chi...Such good news - We got about 12 yards of wood chips last fall and now I can put all to good use!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2611983692965659884.post-1765346560175580092009-10-10T02:40:57.624-05:002009-10-10T02:40:57.624-05:00Just reading about BRF (Bois rameaux fragmentés) i...Just reading about BRF (Bois rameaux fragmentés) in French.... a lot fo work has been done on the use of fresh woodchips as a soil improver in Quebec, France, Belgium and parts of Africa. I believe your approach of compensating for the early immobilisation of nitrogen is the right way to go & that you are going to build a great soil - you won't need fertilisers and in fact you might find Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2611983692965659884.post-8641777731374855352008-06-26T15:23:00.000-05:002008-06-26T15:23:00.000-05:00Lows in the 40's on June 17th?! I plan to harvest a bunch from my worm bin this weekend, and my plants can't wait! (Yes, they told me so. The wood chips built my garden soil on Maui. Without them it would have been an ultra thin layer of dust with lots o' rocks.Christopher C.
