A Wee GBBD

I bet my patch of Snowdrops is bigger than yours.

  1. Most definitely bigger--I haven't even seen greenery on mine yet! (But I hope it's there, buried in the snow.)

  2. You win on the snowdrops. But your link to Carol's site doesn't seem to work.

  3. Thanks for letting me know about the link Elizabeth. All fixed now.

  4. I don't do snowdrops. Those are nice.

I took a peek at your Maui blog. I struggle with white shrimp plant; never knew it was an Hawaiian plant.

  5. Jean that White Shrimp plant is just a tropical plant that found Maui very much to it's liking. It isn't a native Hawaiian plant.

There are lots of gorgeous tropical flower pics on my old blog. You could spend hours in there on a cold day.

  6. Love the snowdrops and that is a nice clump of them, as nice as I've seen. I don't know why I don't have any, but I'm getting some for next year to keep my little crocus company.

  8. Your snowdrops are totally bigger than mine. Mine are like three 1" leaves! I'm all, "wtf, snowdrops!"

  10. Oh, I don't have snowdrops! I have snowflakes!

    Galanthus vs. Leucojum.

    Nevermind.

  11. You win! I can't grow snowdrops in Austin. I do have a patch of summer snowflakes but you patch of snowdrops is bigger.

  12. It seems the Snowflake, Leucojum, blooms much later in the spring, some even in the fall and is a much taller plant.

It also appears that Leucojum has been changed to genus Acis
