When Pigs Lie

Barack Obama quote:

“John McCain says he’s about change, too — except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove-style politics. That’s just calling the same thing something different.”

“You can put lipstick on a pig; it’s still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change; it’s still going to stink after eight years.”

The Lie brought to you by lying liars with an output as abundant and as bold as the goldenrod in early fall.

Update: The "Lipstick" web ad to which "The Lie" linked to is gone. Is it possible that when you call a liar a liar they stop telling the lie? I'll believe that when the Alaskan Queen of federal and oil pork (oink oink) stops saying she stopped the Bridge to Nowhere.

KBG

At last a garden.

This is what most of north Florida looks like, but other things are possible.

Increasingly, growing tropicals outside over many years that reach a substantial size is becoming possible in north Florida.

Turkey Season

I heard voices and then a very loud boom. Then another very loud boom. Very close by. This mingled with staccato shots in the distance.

That didn't sound like a gun. It was too loud. Maybe it was a shotgun. What do I know about the sound of gunfire? Is it turkey season already?

Yes I think it is.

Some beat up old truck did not make it quite to the top of the mountain. Close. I saw a trail of vital fluids that ran about a half a mile down the mountain once they let us through.

I know you really come here for the flowers though. I may get to that in the next few days when I am caught up. There are a lot of tomatoes to eat yet.

Lobelia cardinalis.

If The Day

Did not end

Would I stop moving
Long enough
To eat
To blog
To rest ?

There Was

A Wedding.

I was asked to be the photographer and hesitantly said yes. The process of selecting the best pictures and editing them has begun. I am happy to say I do not think the bride and groom will regret their choice of photographer.

There are a lot of good pictures, even with whole peoples with smiling faces.

Found It

Summer is alive and well at points further south. Sweaty, sticky, Oh crap, it is gonna be a hot return to summer.

A humid hot, that fogs glasses and camera lenses when stepping out of an air conditioned condo.

It has only taken one full year to turn me into a complete snowbird.

The kind that gets red lobster sun burn on the tops of my very white feet and under exposed upper torso. How could this be? I used to be from Hawaii.

It is good to be back on top of my cool mountain.
