It Has Begun

The impertinent indeterminate wintry mix. In the last three hours I have seen frozen rain, sleet, snow and now back to wet rain.

Yep, it has begun. The miserable part of winter. But there is always a ray of sunshine amidst it all.
Rainy here. Over cast also.

I hope we get a bit of snow here in tidewater Virginia!

Hi Christopher~ by now you should be getting quite a bit of accumulation from what I understand. Yes we are driving up this weekend. I am getting very nervous as no one plows up the mile to our house from Liner Creek Road. I just want to be up there with a roaring fire, tucked into the house! We do have 4 wheel drive and chains, but the chains are safely in the garage of the house since we don't need them in Florida. Not too good! The other problem is my son is flying in from college in Boston. He could either get snowed in up there as this storm moves north, or not be able to get into Asheville. When do you drive to Florida?

They just showed Obama on the news, getting of a plane during a blizzard back there. It looked really, really unpleasant.

It would seem you are buried under feet of snow if the weather channel is to be believed. Brokenbeat reported they got a foot by last night. Stay upright and warm! Just a ton of rain here. So far.

I have a feeling you haven't posting again because you lost power. Stay warm!

Enjoy contemplating your stones while this storm blows through. I hope your electric stays on so you can read and stay warm.

I 'stopped by' here this morning to see how much snow you've gotten! My father in Charlottesville has about 8 inches already - as for the SC coast, we got inches and inches of rain yesterday. I bet the snow will be gorgeous! Can't wait to hear about it.

I hope your battons are hatched. Hopefully you'll have a white Christmas.

Wow, I hope you are staying warm and safe out there!

Hello friends: If you have wondered why there has been a long lull between posts here's an OC update. OC has been hiding under 14 inches of snow for almost 4 days with no power and no way out. Daily trecks to gather fire wood have become vital; while huddling with the kitties have kept his toes warm. OC remains in good spirits and has not stopped finding marvels to document and share with you. The mountain has spoken.

Do stay warm. Hopefully the white stuff will go away soonest.
Hope kitties will stay in where it's warm.
Take care friend.

Keep cozy and warm...Is there any reason you need to leave your perch in the mountains? gail There will be no white stuff on the ground in Nashville.

Glad for the update, be warm and dream of gardens to come... :)

Thanks for the update; I was getting concerned! I told you so about the firewood! (: Hope you find a way out soon; friends with plows are essential these days! (we also got 14" but not on a mountain!)
