The sunshine state is a bone chilling 44 degrees on a cloudy day. The humid chill here penetrates much more deeply.
In some ways it is almost a foreign land, foreign forest to me now. The stretch of time leaves only ghostly familiar memories.
The river looks the same.
Perhaps it always will.

The river stays pretty much the same unless man try's to change it. Sometimes I don't think that works as nature will have her way.
Cool & cloudy makes for a contemplative day. A nice one at that.
Beautiful photos as usual. Bone-chilling 44 degrees? You know to some of us, that's laughable. 25 degrees here and we're usually 44. It's all relative, isn't it?
Bone chilling 44?? How soon we forget what real cold feels like. It sure is purdy where you are.
If I had to guess (which I do) I'd say that is the St John's River... and temps...
Obviously you were worried about staying too long in the 'sunshine state' and needed to get home. To NC. Your new home, cold though it may be right now.
I'm with you on the bone chillin' 44 degrees. I've been colder in SC than I feel like I was in Michigan - it's a damp cold that doesn't quickly leave you.
