Winter Incoming

It's coming. The first potential real pile up of snow is scheduled for the next 24 hours. It is a NW flow, above 3500 feet, Tennessee border snow and I am in the path. How much of it will stick?

I will be having more weather initiated days of lazy puttering. I'm good with that. Maybe I will mop something. It could snow all day.

I wandered outside for a bit in the warm windy sunshine between last night's thunderous rain and tonight's blowing snow. The baby Witch Hazels aren't babies anymore. They are handsome looking young shrubs loaded with flower buds. We need to do winter first.

It is hard to imagine a completely different garden of winter hides in the Tall Flower Meadow during the growing season. It gains more substance with each passing year.

Tomorrow it will be hidden again, coming and going, even in winter.

Only one garden I tend has been officially closed for the season. All the others are very close. Three end of season extras have to fit in somewhere. This time of year, it's all about the weather. I have minimum operating standards.

It is time for winter to do some chop and drop. I really appreciate the help.

Good luck in the storm. I hope you don't lose power.
