No leaves yet. A tentative ID is Viola rotundifolia. Of course there are several other yellow flowered violet choices.
The first sighting of Bloodroot, Sanguinaria canadensis.
A Poppy relative in the Papaveraceae family.

Mmm, composty goodness.
The forest is incredibly messy. You would think with all the regular gale force winds a point would be reached where no more branches fall to the ground. Not yet. Who can ever pick it all up, so it just lays there and does what it is supposed to do.
Life popping up all over! Do you eat wild mushrooms? I bet there will be lots of them in a nice woods like that.
Pretty violets. I don't have any yellow ones (yet). Keep a close eye on that Sanguinaria, they come into bloom so quickly & then blow apart, I've missed some of mine in past years. No sign of any here yet, but soon...
