Crafts and Lilies and Such

We visited the Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands and I finally made it to downtown Asheville.

Winged Griffin at the Grove Arcade Asheville NC. This is big city kind of architectural ornamentation.

Metal sculpted bench by Susan Hutchinson, Weaverville, NC.
None of my pictures do these works of art any justice.

The native Tiger Lily, Lilium lancifolium.

Getting ready to look at the color purple.

Some stitching detail of Santa's Tropical Adventure from the best quilter I saw there, Libby Mijanovich from Marshall NC.

An amazing blend of ceramics and metal sculpture by Yvonne Hegney of Bakersville, NC. She was fun. Her web site www.southwoodatelier.com does not want to come up for me.

Playing with your minds.

Say GoodNight Lily.

I should mention too that I got a building permit for my cozy little cabin today.

Congrats on the permit.

As always, great photographic images.

That griffin is one ugly ass dude. Definitely not for me.

With the building permit the focus shifts again. Now is when I could use the services of a construction dominatrix.

Of course the NC Arboretum has posted another job I want and that I have applied for. If I am lucky I will start work and begin real building at the same time.

I had to do a search for dominatrix...hint: don't read the wikipedia version.

Did A leave already? It was terrific meeting her. Be sure and give her my e address. BTW, I do not have a new e address for you.

Anyway, if I can help I am more than happy to do so. Let me know.

Yes Ani left this morning.

Are you applying for the Dominatrix job, Deb?

Dominatrix? ...uh...no...but I'll go over the current phase if you want and see if there are any suggestions I could add.

I'm a believer in brainstorming, as one person might think of something important. It is soooo much easier to get it right from the beginning than to have to go back and fix it. But, my guess is that the resident gardener is going to make sure that the structural/functional acpects are right.

That leaves the aesthetics, which are always a matter of opinion and often cause a clash. I mean (for example), a heater pipe in the sitting area might be the easiest, cheapest, and most functional way to go, but if you don't want it there ...

Congratulations! One thing down. That's how I feel right now - like life is one giant list of things to check-off.

That lily was beautiful.

I enjoyed the views of the Biltmore - I haven't been up there in quite awhile, and I think it was during the fall. It looks alot like my garden (yeah, right).
