Stopping To Enjoy The Chicory

This is the sight that greets me every morning as I pull away to work where I meticulously maintain gardens for others.

Such a beautiful section in your garden. Nothing like a spot of sky so close to the ground to cheer your day.

Here, the chicory is interspersed with Queen Anne's Lace - or wild carrot - I'm never sure which is the right name. The combination of your (and our) white and blue is hard to beat, in my opinion.

Love the Chicory! It is on my list to plant in my septic field meadow garden.

I came across your picture as i was browsing chickory patches. I was wondering what the grass was included in the picture with combination of queen anns lace> I like the spikyness with the fan shape. And I am a fan of blue which I think would work with my blue Hydrangeas. Thanks

Hi Rootdigger. That grass is Miscanthus sinensis 'Morning Light' in its younger years and early in the season before it reaches full size. It has since taken over that entire bed and crowded out most everything else. One day I need to get in there and remove half of it.
