It looked pleasant enough out there, a nice sunny day with passing clouds, until you stepped outside.
A meager high of thirty degrees may have lasted for a few minutes. I can handle that now surprisingly. It was the constant rip roaring thirty knot winds that was the kiss of death for a pleasant day.
I stayed inside and did my taxes for an anorexic income.

Yep, we have that same wind up here off the Chesapeake Bay. Fortunately, I walked the dog in beautiful stillness this morning just before the wind came. It seems to have gotten windier here in the east the past few years; does anyone else think so? Part of global climate change perhaps?

The rip roaring wind up here is one of my father's regular stories. Now, he is not up here in the winter to know if there is more or less of it. I certainly am only now gaining reference points.
Hi Christopher! We too have rip roaring winds. Sometimes when the wind is howling at night, it is really scary. We always say the ghosts are on the porch as we watch the rockers rocking back and forth with no one on them. I limit what I put out on the porch because I have found things blown off and into the woods. I hope the wind and cold aren't too bad for you this weekend so you can work on more of that good looking siding!
Siria, stuff most definitely blows off and around up here. One of the worst is the collections of plastic pots from all the nursery purchases. Somehow we can seem to throw them away. They come in handy.
Ugh, cold wind!
I agree Christopher. That wind is something else. I can take the cold just not that wind.
It stormed this a.m. Was supposed to do it till afternoon. Shoot, by 10 it was over with & sun. The rest of the day was pretty & warm. But by the morning it's supposed to be about 28ยบ. Crazy weather I tell ya.
You know, I seem to feel okay with the cold wind when it is super-cold...like -10 or so. The air is so dry, it's surreal and almost "not cold" IMO. But when it's 25 and damp out, the cold seems to cut right through you.
