Inevitable

One day the cozy cabin will have all its siding, but I have reached a standstill in my siding obsession. The window trim and porch roofs must go on before I can continue.

One day soon it will be spring and the Helleborus from Fairegarden, Tennessee will have open blooms. One day the Helleborus will be big clumps in large drifts when the potted baby Helleborus join the garden.

One day the dry stack stone walls will get the attention they deserve and can be said to be finished.

One day I may look back at this time and marvel at how fast a cozy cabin, rock walls, vegetable and ornamental gardens came into being by the physical efforts of mostly one man.

One day soon I hope to be able to set in a rocking chair on my front porch and enjoy the lush scenery. Maybe I should just bring a chair down there now.

Ooooh, that is a great idea. Get the feel of the view from a rocking chair, I can see it now. Thanks for the link love, Christopher, we kind of did a trade off in the same day! There are plenty more hellebore babies if you need or want them. Also a yellow Louisiana iris is potted up for you. It felt so good to be warm outside, rather than nearly freezing with cold winds. I even saw a bumble bee, honey bee and a lady bug today outside. Signs of the season so near.

I think it is certainly true that this one man has made remarkable progress in such a short time. It does sometimes feel as if things will never be finished, but often it is the process, not the product, that matters, right? (or it sounds good right now, at least! (:)

Hi Christopher! I already marvel at how you have accomplished what you have in such a short time. The cozy cabin is really looking great and I look forward to seeing your gardens progress as the spring and summer come around. Being in the midst of all of it now, you must be overwhelmed with the thought of so many things to finish, however one day soon as you sit on that rocker and look around at all you have accomplished, it will be a happy day indeed!

By all means bring the rocker down. Sometimes it helps to rock & think.
You have accomplished so much in such a short time. Credits to you for you strength, your courage, your ambition, your drive & your love of the land.
Blessings to you my dear friend.

Christopher,
I love what Lola said! So very true..."your strength, your courage, your ambition, your drive & your love of the land." Might I add your spirit and vision.

Aw shucks. Really I just need stuff to do to keep myself busy while I am tragically under employed. That is a good thing for now, otherwise I would not have this much done.

Frances it's only fair. I knew you were planning a link and I wanted to see what else besides daffodils might be showing signs of life.

I marvel at your accomplishments! Oh, I wrote this before reading Siria's comment. We all marvel! Time for a rock or two in that chair.

It's lookin' good. One day, it will all be finished. It took us five years of hard work, but we finally finished ours. We still do projects all around it though.~~Dee
