From A Distance

What a sight. I came home with groceries and used the service entrance. Normally I use the front door. From way up above, there was 'Arnold' in a beam of light shining big and bright.

This is the first year 'Arnold' has been big enough to actually see from a distance. It will keep getting better - as long as the deer don't do more than their small annual sampling.

We saw a herd of 54 deer heading into a forest from a field last weekend. I hope you don't have that many in your area.

The most I have ever seen up here is four and the damage is generally a nibble here and there. They do seem to really like the red twig dogwood. I did find a baby hemlock tree beat to death this weekend which was new. The loose cows are far more destructive.
