Places I Go
To work
In Haywood County, North Carolina.
It will be time to organize fallen leaves soon.
I'd say it is an even trade for Maui.

Magnificent pics Christopher. I can't believe how the color was in the valleys & green higher up in that 3rd pic. About took my breath away.
The tin roof in the second pic-----suggest another life to enjoy the color of the magnificent tree beside it.
Lola I am thinking all that green must be White Pine. If they were Hemlocks they would all be dead skeletons.
To work? I would have a hard time getting anything done with all that you have to look at.
Wow, what a place to work! Glad to hear it made it to at least an even trade with Maui. I guess each place has its very different positives and negatives - but owning one's own land is hard to beat. (:

That is high praise for you relatively new home. I haven't seen Maui, but it is hard to imagine anything better than what you have got. :-)

Les that first shot is from the back yard of where I was working. If I did not pay attention, I could easily roll down the hill and break something. The next two pics are from an apple orchard just below the entrance to the neighborhood looking back up.
Bev there are a lot of criteria one could evaluate in comparing Maui to WNC. On the beauty scale it is even. The social scale is lacking, but I live in the wilderness and stay busy so much. That and economics will develope over time.
Frances there are surely places out west that are awe inspiring. I thought Colorado was a most beautiful place to live too.
The fall colors are magnificent there this year.
It has been another very nice fall Sweetbay. Warm too.
