They look like the ones that opened beside my house. I have some lavender colored iris back in the woods that have daintier blossoms.
They make me think of my grandmother who had them all along her fence row. I didn't appreciate them, then. Now, I love them for their own amazing variety and for the memory of love they evoke.

Of course you brake for irises! I just hope no one was right behind you. Those are very pretty, and well worth stopping for to take a closer look.
Carol it was a good thing no one was behind me. I stopped completely and waffled on where to park.

Yep, I have some of those purple beauties blooming now too. Sometimes they keep me at the window longer than intended.
