The Early Visitors Get The Chicory

On sunny days the chicory is closed by noon. There will only be a short window of opportunity in the morning to view the chicory up close and open.

Other flowers don't have that habit.

They take advantage of every beam of sunshine they can get. Some burn out fast and others seem to bloom on and on. That window of opportunity might not be before noon, but it could be just a couple of days or a few short weeks.

No problem. In the wild cultivated gardens something else is waiting in the wings to bloom in even more profusion.

We are ready for showtime. There will be plenty flowers. And as the summer grows on there will be more and more and more. I will get to see all of them.

The paths are mowed. The way is clear.

To the cool shade of the ridge top garden next door.

If you spend your morning down there with the other gardens, the cool up here will feel oh so nice by comparison.

It's fine to walk slow and take your time. That is a main object of the wild cultivated gardens. Relax. Slow down. Look. Because tomorrow it will be all new and different.

Love it. That Chicory sure is pretty. Love blue in the garden.

Lola I have the chicory for summer and have been letting the Blue Wood Aster fill in for fall.

The wild cultivated gardens look beautiful. Today I stopped by the Corneille Bryan Native Garden. Not that much blooming there... but there was a small clump of Spigelia marilandica "Pink Root" with 5-6 blooms. Winding paths thru plants draw me in...to keep exploring. See you Sat.

I'm sure the Garden Guests will be charmed today. You're SO right about relaxing - slowing down.

I'm particularly charmed by those "mini-labyrinths" - not sure what else to call them.
