Some Structure

Bottle by bottle some structure begins to form.

The structure comes with free rocks. Most everything I do in the garden to be comes with free rocks. I wasn't about to try and move these.

The Lush was given a haircut so that I can contemplate the new structure during the barren time of winter.

A planting bed takes shape around many things already planted in there. More weeding and more wood chip mulch will give it even more definition.

I can be a bad gardener, creating the garden beds around the plants I plant instead of doing it the right way and making the beds first then filling them with plants. The plants just follow me home faster than I can get to bed making.

It will all work out with time. I don't however recommend doing it this way for clients, nor do I suggest you try this yourself at home.

Hi Christopher! I love the extension of the bottle edging with the rocks, and I love how you have widened the bottle edging in parts. I need to bring you more wine bottles...are you running low?

Siria I have pretty much used up that huge pile of bottles. At this point I will be either a few short or have a few extra. Client #1 will provide me enough so no need for you to save any more. Then again this may need to be repeated elsewhere in the garden. Maybe.

I really like the look of the sunken wine bottles. You forget they are wine bottles. I know your garden will be beautiful no matter how you go about creating it. Have fun.

Once upon a time I had a mountain boy as a lover, who had a daddy, who taught me the phrase 'truck landscaping.' As in, things got planted wherever they were pulled off the back of a pickup truck. LOL. I, the rescuer of unwanted plants (some of them great big plants) have often created beds around these specimens. Love that wine bottle edging...

I like it. And a good excuse to drink.
