I Went To A Garden Party

In the garden of Christopher Mello, a local landmark at the entrance to North East, East West Asheville (NEEWA).

The Louisiana iris 'Black Gamecock', not 'Black Knight'.

An orange tree with hops.

After the rain stopped.

Texture in red

Shovels ready.

The Blue Pearl poppies on the other side of the fence.

Red texture in the other direction.

The Head in the garden.

A real blue bottle tree.

It is always a delight to explore Christopher's garden, to see it change and grow. A black iris lives there now. Next year I may see it bloom.

That's a fun mix of garden art. I took your label of an orange tree with a hops vine to mean a citrus tree, but I think you mean, an orange-colored tree - cool way to use a birdcage there! Oh, totally off-topic, I remembered the cartoon strip.: Rex Morgan, M.D. It apparently still runs, or did to at least 2008. I was a paperboy, with the New York Times, the Wall St Journal, and the Miami Herald to deliver, so I read a ton as I folded those papers. Geez... Thanks for letting us tour Mr. Mello's garden.

Thanks for including Christopher Mello's garden last year, what a treat. I am still in awe of all his burgundy leafed plant material.
