I Had An Idea

I was toting the cinder blocks that had been used to prop up the nasty lattice under the house to hide them and had an idea. Maybe it's a good idea, maybe not. The best way to find out is to try.

I decided to put them to use by stacking them into a raised planter box.

This idea would also serve to block the view of the stack of lumber under the house that wasn't going any where. I stacked them on the left first where it really hid the lumber and it didn't feel right with the house. I moved them to the right. It felt better. Then I added a few beat up old pots to finish off the hiding.

Now this idea also involves painting the blocks blue, filling the container it creates and the pots with soil and planting it all. Then it will look even better and there won't be a stack of useless cinder blocks hiding under the house.

You can ignore that stack of lumber on the left. I pulled that out of the pile for the new trellis.

The new trellis posts got cement boots today and two horizontal boards were nailed on to give it more stability while the cement is curing.

Blue cinder block raised bed on the left, yellow arbor, big blue pot and then the new trellis for the coral honeysuckle vine is going to be red. We gonna have some color popping when you pull in the drive.

It's been a while since I have had several half finished processes going on at the same time. It feels normal.

It was a most lovely spring like day and the crocus responded accordingly.

There are more crocus at the top of my drive in the well head bed. The more spring like days we have the more crocus we will be seeing. These are merely the first of hundreds.

'Arnold's Promise' is still blooming. 'Jelena' and 'Diane' are done. Those two started blooming in the nursery down in the valley and had a head start no doubt.

Spring is just around the corner. Green growth is coming very soon. All kinds of projects are getting done. The big one may be the last, toting 12 tons of gravel down to the basement patio for the base for a future stone floor.

By June the wild cultivated gardens just might be ready for their closeup.

Great idea for the blocks.

I knew you would find a good use for the blocks. A little paint and it will look good. All your projects are looking good. Love the color.

I have my fingers crossed that a very large and beautiful expensive ceramic pot cracked at the nursery over the winter and they need to toss it. That would be much nicer than the ratty old used plastic pots.
