Found Art

"Just tell people you paid big money for it in Asheville." It was either staying where I found it and being made into some useful art or going home with me. It stayed.

I found all these interesting parts buried just below the surface a couple of years ago when I was planting a new bed. I arranged them into something new. She liked it. I did too. They could have followed me home.

How did such odd pieces come to rest here? There is another item still buried. It was too big to move. My best guess is that is the top of a cement picnic table. One day maybe.

Most of the Objets de strewn about the wild cultivated gardens get absorbed and disappear in the Lush by this time of year.

That's alright. There is plenty to keep me occupied until they reappear in the barren time. I have ten foot high Joe Pye and Ironweed that is trying to catch up.

I have been harvesting sacks of fine produce for weeks now. It gets eaten, frozen and shared and I am still not making full use of it all.

There have been a lot of tasty oven roasted vegetables with dinner of late. It's such an easy way to cook vegetables. Wash, slice, coat in olive oil and season to taste. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes depending on elevation at 400 degrees. Eat. Yummy.

The Tall Flower Meadow is creeping into its prime end of summer floral display.

There is a little more color every day.

It was also getting a bit jungly out there. The paths were beginning to close and I was having to push my way through the foliage.

There are scenes to be seen. Fighting my way through gets a little tiresome.

It was time for a good mowing and selective stem removal to open the paths again.

So that is what I did today. The garden is freshly mowed and ready for prime time viewing and strolling.
