According To Matthew

It was on the list. I was tired of looking at that dead hemlock tree. Matthew got to it before I did.

But Matthew only knocked it down. I have to clean it up. And if I am going to have to break out the chainsaw, I might as well take down the other two trunks of this dead tree that Matthew left standing. Then I might as well go after the other dead hemlocks along my driveway that are on the list.

It is only fair. The drizzle did indeed turn to real rain in the night and it rained for most of the day. We got over an inch of desperately needed water applied gently and evenly to the ground. There was zero runoff. It got sucked right in.

It has been windy and icky two days running and other than a clean bathroom and some laundry I have been sitting on my okole for two days. Yes Matthew, time to get up and do some real work.

Fall is coming. The Sisters are coming. I have some tidying to do.

Autumn really is set to arrive. Next week is scheduled to have perfect weather of cool, 40's mornings and seventy degree sunny days. A good amount of color is starting to show up in the crispy.

If it hasn't turned brown from drought by now, there is a good chance for some excellent fall color.

The big wheel keeps on turning. According to Matthew we have entered a new phase. I'm ready.

Glad you finally got rain. We had .24 and still no rain in the forecast for the next 10 days. As bad as it is, we are better than Southeast Tennessee where they are in a severe drought. Our mountains are still pretty green, but I am noticing that the Sourwood is showing color. I will be glad when this breaks......at least until we get the first snow.
