After Doom Next Door

I was pleasantly surprised. Things did not look near as bad as expected. There was even some perky left. The daffodils and other spring bulbs all faired pretty well. It was the daylily and iris that took the biggest hit. The magnolia blossoms were freeze fried to a crisp.

Enjoy a little after doom daffodil sampler from Bulbhilla.

Our magnolia was brilliant for a few days then the freeze hit. It went to pure brown out. We often get upper blooms frozen off but this was a total blitz. I really like these little white daffodils. I have some blooming now too. Love this time of year when you go out to walk around the garden and find things blooming you forgot you planted. In my garden it was a beautiful white Trout Lily. My heart jumped for joy.

Lisa my later blooming Magnolia 'Jane' was just about to open the first flower. It got zapped of course. I am hoping the many still small flower buds are the backup.

Love this time of year when you go out to walk around the garden and find things blooming - that planted themselves.
