Light Blue Froth

Symphyotrichum cordifolium is gaining momentum. It is the star of the late fall wildflowers, turning the ridge top garden into an ocean of pale blue.

The White Snakeroot, Ageratina altissima is fading away.

We watch and wait for the crescendo of the light blue froth of fall.

I love the photo of the cat staring down the road. Has it heard the sound of an approaching can opener?
Your ex-Aster cordifolius are lovely. It's one of my favorites.

The wild asters are just starting to open here Christopher and if the heavens would close and take the rain up north where folks need it; the bees and butterflies could come a calling. I imagine your woods are fantastic right now. gail

Kitty is nice pic. Looks as tho it is waiting for something or someone.

Oh, it's time? Is that mama spot looking down the driveway? Great shot. Our cordy aster is not quite open yet, but holds great promise. And congrats on the nominations over at Blotanical! :-)

I took a picture of the wild asters just yesterday. They do look frothy and are dreamy in large clumps. I bet Momma Spot is watching for a meadow mouse to shoot across the road so she can get it. She looks so poised in this photo.

MMGD, I think Mama Spot is waiting for the sight and sound of scurrying. Ha, all my asters are ex-asters.

Gail I do think it would be nice if it dried out long enough for the blue asters to lift their faces. More rain is a commin'.

Lola, sometimes it is funny how skittish Spot will be about sounds out there and she sticks right by my feet.

Frances you will have plenty of the S. cordifolium in no time. I'm bad about Blotanical. I went to have a look though.

Major blue froth here Lisa. I had to wait for Mama Spot to stop licking herself to get the off into the distance shot.
