Before More Snow

The recent weathers have put things into slow motion. Rain and snow. Rain and snow. A lot of rain actually. The creeks are rising kind rain.

Daffodil number three of the 2011 bulb show has looked much the same for many days now.

Fritillaria pallidiflora must like it here. Each year it has gained in size and stature. The blooms are a little on the nondescript side. Maybe they will get showier with maturity.

Bulbhilla is doing its thing.

The poor crocus are not having any luck with this wet, snowy, cool then cold weathers.

They want a little sunshine to open.

That has been in scarce supply for the last week. Hang on. Saturday and Sunday look good.

This is how it should be. We don't want the daffodils to get all hot and bothered and rush into things.

Every year is slightly different. The daffodils that are normally the first to open like 'Rip Van Winkle' and 'Jetfire' are still mulling things over. 'Ice Follies' must have been in a big hurry this year to prove it wasn't the WUD ( World's Ugliest Daffodil ) after all. It is a month earlier than what I vaguely recall in the past.

The View from My Dining Room Window. Dining room. Ha! It's where a small two seater table will go.

Very wimpy flurries started at 11 this morning. Around four it started to stick.

Tonight will tell how much snow this wrap around can deliver.

The cold is already here.

I love your view from your dining room window! It will be really nice to sit and eat your breakfast and look out that window to contemplate your daily activities. Also, I think your WUD is no longer. Sure looks lovely to me!

Blooms do seem to be slow this Spring.
Even tho it can be only a 2 seater the view will be wonderful.

Agree about the view! What size is the main room in your cozy cabin again?

yes, we don't want spring to rush into being, we want to savor the anticipation.

Frost warnings tonight from 2/9. Hope it don't do damage. I have small peaches on my tree & some veggie plants are just taking off.
I thought Spring was here for this area. lol

Christopher, I've noticed everything here is different this year too. It's odd how the daffodils change. Ice Follies is looking pretty good in that photo.~~Dee
