This Old House

As seen by the side of the road.

No doubt it was a very fine house in its day.

It seems to be calling for attention. I can just imagine that big front porch all painted up with comfy rockers and a big pot of geraniums and ferns in a big white wicker planter. Oh the tales it could tell.

Lisa that house practically talks to me when I drive by.

I can just see a family living there going about their duties. Flowers all around amongst the veggies. The smallest children playing. Late in the evening a couple rocking, resting a bit before bed time.
A hard life but one much better in a lot of ways. It could tell a lot of stories if it could talk.

How interesting... the stories those walls could tell. I imagine that so close to the road it might have been a wayside inn of some kind...

I always love this house when I pass by it. Someone must own it and be looking after it because they keep it mowed and those signs by the front door .....

This old house is - or was, I have not driven that road in a few years, out there in the mountains near Waynesville, NC. Crabtree to be more precise.
