The Deep Cold

The 20% chance of snow is turning into another inch. Snow is good. More snow would be better with the deep cold that's coming.

The temperature hovered at 17 for most of the day. Both 'Jelena' have curled their frilly thin petals back towards the calyx. It is now down to 5. I hope they are tucked in enough to survive.

The Deep Cold Art Project will be ready by morning. I hope the wind dies down before then. It's brutal out there.

Did you know a round ball of freezing water can explode? When it got down to 11 they all starting talking. Then a few of them split open releasing their molten cores. This lovely yellow orb is now two. I'll just take that to mean I will have more to work with tomorrow when the Deep Cold Art Project is completed.

Exploding water balls did at least remind me to leave a drip running in the kitchen sink tonight.

I am the only animal that has set foot outside the house today. Miss Dinah finally caught the cold that has been going around and she has been inside for the last four days sleeping and sneezing. The other two haven't even considered it after a quick check this morning.

It is now down to four. I have a feeling I will be breaching the suggested low by a significant margin. That's Ok. All I want is sun and no wind tomorrow before midday. I don't want to suffer too much for the sake of entertainment.

Inside it is as cozy as can be. My biggest chore today was printing out tax forms. Maybe tomorrow I will put pencil to paper and get started. Maybe.

I'm not seeing my minimum operating temperature until Sunday now, but the Deep Cold Art Project will get me out there.
