On The Edge Of The Vortex

The temperature went backwards on Tuesday. It started to rime just over my head.

Tonight we are having ice. Frozen stuff of multiple sorts will be falling from the sky. This is the Under Garden before the storm. I thought it was looking rather fetching in the blue light of a mountain's shadow.

You have a lot of winter interest. It is cold here too but hopefully next week it will warm up and melt some of this snow. We had 14" on the ground and got another inch last night. Winter just keeps on giving. Gotta love it.

We are having a real winter this year Lisa. It gave me a thick coating of ice last night. Hopefully it will melt today before more ice tonight. I've already heard trees crashing. Good luck on the snow melt.

Good afternoon, Christopher: Those variegated yucca (did I identify them correctly?) are a wonderful bright splash of color in an otherwise grey/brown palette of winter. I especially enjoy their undulating line across your hillside. The next two nights of low temperatures will bring a challenge to the flora and fauna (and those brave and hardworking souls who work at clearing debris from power lines). Aren't we lucky to be able to stay warm and safe in our homes. Hope you do, too. Gypsy

Yes those are Yucca filamentosa 'Color Guard' Gypsy. I'm sure happy I can stay home and wait until things thaw and dry out a bit before cleaning up the mess.
