At Home In The Fall

Peak leaf peeping continues. The color has been exceptionally nice this year.

There has even been enough pre-freeze to the season that the Japanese Maple has had time to turn.

That will be over shortly. The first killer freeze is on the way. Snow could happen tonight.

The Fothergilla had enough time to turn too. If this is a mild killer freeze, the late season leaf peeping items could get even more color before it is over.

The meadow is shall we say, rather ratty looking. A good killer freeze makes chopping it all down much less traumatic.

The maintenance gardener is having a hankering for a final mowing before winter sets in. I think I missed one towards the end of the season, fleas and heart attacks and all that. Fresh mowed paths could look nice for the winter. The lawn stays green all winter.

Red berries for migrating birds as the Under Garden begins to come out.

Cozy. At home in the fall. The wild cultivated gardens had a very good year.
