No snow. There were two light frosts of 31 degrees. As of today we are about three quarters of the way to nekkid. It's almost over.

First it is doing a fine display of fall foliage.
That is not always the case. Many years the leaves have been frozen to a crispy brown before they ever had a chance to turn.
The first true killer freeze has been coming weeks later the last few years. Autumn lingers.
The cozy cabin high on the low spot is now more visible from the scenic byway. I'm used to cars slowing down or stopping to have a look. It's peeping season.

No surprise to found that autumn gives a lovely display there in your wooded area. Our first frost came two weeks late, and was four straight nights of hard freeze. So my flowers are gone for the season. Time to rest.
Robin the forest here is amazing. Still no true hard freeze in these parts. Lots of light frosts which slows me in putting the client's gardens to bed. I like to let them enjoy things as long as possible. But no more. The chopping begins in earnest this week, frozen or not.
