Wow, did you have to alter those images? Really cool!

Eliza that is the cartoon effect in my Kodak photo editor. One picture was taken on the stage setting and one on the candle light setting with the camera.

What a winter, Christopher - you're really getting a workout and the photos are wonderful.

Thinking out loud: Do you think this winter would be harder if you were in this cabin a few years ago, pre-blog?
In theory it seems that having people to share the experience should make things better. But in order to share it, you have to take photos and write words, and pay attention, which might make you feel it more.... or might work the opposite.

I don't know if any of that made sense, but I'm glad you blog and am sending you warm thoughts!

Annie I am just glad my first winter here was not like this. I have now had two previous winters to build up to this.

Without the blog I might go a bit more stir crazy. I used to watch TV and that got pointless and I can only sit still to read before bed. I assume at some point I will get out more often. The roads are really kept in good shape. As long as you don't drive in the middle of a major dump of snow it isn't a problem at all.

I am glad to hear that you have had time to adjust to this winter's weather. Geez, you might have been frightened back to Maui for good if this had been the first winter. Our winter here has been bad by our standards. We just have to keep busy.

Neat with the pics.
Snow is always prettier at night when it's falling.
I too am glad you had some time to adjust to this weather before the bad one.

You need a greenhouse that you can work in during "snow days."

Iphoto hasn't any cartoon effect editors...phooey...they look like fun. This weather has made me just a teensy bit cranky and when the sun came out today i immediately felt my spirits lift. I hope the sun comes up over your cabin...gail
