Shooed Away To The Garden

The patient was still groggy and wanted to sleep. He didn't want us to wait three hours and come back for the next fifteen minutes of visit time allotted in the ICU. He wanted to sleep. Well ok, we'll come back tomorrow.

A stormy morning had turned into a bright and sunny afternoon. We're in town, would you like to go see the spring wildflowers at the Asheville Botanical Garden? I'll go again no problem. So Bulbarella and I went to the garden.

I found two more doubled petaled dogwoods on this visit. Got a label? No. The next one I found had a label. Cornus florida, Dogwood. Period. No help at all.

Today the Pinxter Azalea, Rhododendron periclymenoides, had open blooms.

Flame Azalea, Rhododendron calendulaceum was also waking in the warm sunshine.

By the time we got home it was cloudy again. The wind was whipping. The temperature was dropping. A few spritzes were falling. The wrap around was coming. Will it be rain or will it be snow. The diagnosed low is 33. It could go either way.

That kind of a low for a short duration is no problem for these cherry blossoms.

Far more loss is occurring from wind whippage. Spring is such a fickle beast.

Lola my sister said it was really windy in Gainesville and wanted to know if it was windy here too. I said if it wasn't hurricane force we wouldn't notice. The wind howls through here all the time.

I think we got some of the overflow of a storm that went thru S.C. that came from the West.
I remember how the wind sounded when I was there. Scary at times. I had to get use to it.

The gardens are lovely and I know both your spirits were lifted by the visit. I know you'll all be glad when your dad is home. May that be soon.
