The blue is exquisite, playing solo. After the rambunctious asters earlier, this is is a fine grace note.
I love fall crocus. Well, I love all crocuses.
One is the loneliest number... Blue is beautiful...
Love the blue. I'm proud of my surprise even if it is a weed.
It was a surprise on the walk with kitties today. It is either a newly planted fall crocus or a recently divided saffron crocus. It was grace that lead me to it.
Is there a way to tell if it is saffron crocus?
Probably there is Sallysmom, but I don't know how.
Does a crocus have to be a certain age before it has saffron?
According to Google Saffron Crocus blooms in the Fall only. The Saffron is the red string looking things in the middle of the bloom.
I noticed on my walk yesterday, that my Flowering Quince and my Forsythia have blooms on them here and there. I am worried that this warm weather after the cold spell has them all mixed up. I hope those were not buds that I saw on my peach trees. Crazy weather we have these days.
