I was only an inch and a half off.
The main pump was plumbed and the water and electric lines were buried to a point. Then I got tired of waiting on the spring to fill it and dropped a hose in there. It was time for testing.
The steady water level is supposed to be an inch below the top of the skimmer door so that floating stuff gets sucked in and filtered out. It's a bit too high.
That means I need to drop my overflow sump pump skimmer an inch and a half to get my desired water level. I did not take into account the added height from attaching the liner and installing the door. No big deal. It will be easy to lower it. And then it will be easier to hide.
The first test of the pond actually went quite well. Only minor adjustments are needed. The overall water level in relation to the shelving for placing rocks and the outer perimeter for containing the water turned out just right.
That adjustment will be made and then it will be time to start rebuilding the falls. Twin Falls Pond is coming along.
Back home the crocus are closing up in preparation for clouds and rain and a dash of cool.
Cool not cold. There really should be some cold to put some fear into plants that are considering breaking dormancy. I am tired of damage from late spring freezes. It must be normal it happens so much. Normal or not, it is annoying to a gardener.
Meanwhile, the minor bulbs have begun to add their tiny sparkle to the barren forest floor.

Your aqua engineering project is very interesting. We blog followers are getting an education for sure. That last little blue bloomer is beautiful....what is it?
I am curious where on earth you learned to do all that engineering with the pond. Had you had previous experience? It's pretty impressive!
You are actually ahead of us on the coastal plain as far as bloom goes. Just snowdrops and the very first few crocus here by the Chesapeake Bay.
Dana the last blue minor bulb is a scilla.
Bev I learned pond building from reading and doing. The pond supply companies also have good how to info. It isn't complicated so much as exacting. Keeping your moving water contained can be a bit tricky because it does odd things when hitting objects in the stream and splashing is in general a water loser. Hard to believe we are ahead of you in the mountains.
