Oh .. My .. Spot

She's back! The first snow of the season must have driven her back home to her nesting place in the luxury basement accommodations.

She looks just fine. No dings. No dents, cuts, scrapes, nicks or tears. She has lost about three pounds and is slim and trim again like she went to some luxury fat farm spa.

I can't believe it. Mama Spot is back home.

Cats do that. Ike ran away two days after we had him neutered. I gave him a week to come back. On the fifth day, he showed up, worse for wear. One last Hurrah, I guess.

It's good to have her back before winter!

Nell Jean my horrible thought was they may have missed something when they did the snip and cut back in January. She'll put all that weight back on and I'll have to see if anything is kicking inside there.

Carol I can't believe she stayed out there in all that rain. She had gotten so fussy about weathers.

OMW, Christopher, I'm so glad that mama Spot has come home. She does look ok. Maybe some extra petting is due here. Maybe she caught some of those pesky mice so they won't invade the Cozy Cabin when the winds howl & the snow fly's.

Yay!!! I thought she was doomed. Maybe that wild migration gene took over her lap warming gene until the snow snapped her back into lap warming mode. Good to see her back.

Our neighbors cat was closed up in our yard barn for a few days during fall once. It was lucky I went back to the barn after a few days because sometimes I don't get into the yard barn for weeks at a time. The poor cat was sitting on the garden tractor seat as if on a throne just waiting for someone to open the doors.

In all of my 57 years of owning cats, the only time one disappeared it never reappeared. I am thrilled Spot is back. I have been checking in on your blog several times a day with fingers crossed that she would return. Instead of wandering around, she may have been trapped inside of something and it took her all that time to figure out how to get out.

The return of Spot was the best news ever! She could write a book...

Hurray!!! I'm so happy Mama Spot is back! I know you must have great relief that she is home and OK. Colors and fall foliage look beautiful. I can't believe it has already SNOWED!

Lola nine days is a long time to be gone without food. She sure lost weight, but I know she is a good hunter and there was for sure plenty of water to drink.

Lisa I figured she was a goner too. Et up by the coyotes or shot by some over zealous hunter. Now I wonder if she got stuck inside the neighbor's house some how. They stopped to say hello on their way out today.

Anonymous, you and Lisa have me wondering. The neighbors said they got here Friday night. Spot came home Saturday night and they have two houses, two separate garages, a cabin, a pool house and a metal barn structure across the street from me. It could take them some time to check on all those places.

Yes the adventures of the Spot Family Frances. Escapes from the spay clinic in downtown Waynesville to hide in a culvert under the railroad tracks, stuck 60 feet up in a locust tree needing a tree trimmer to climb to the rescue and now the nine day disappearance. What's next?

Wondering Women we are a happy family again. It is amazing that she is back.

Siria, hooray is a good description. Yes our first snow already. If this is a sign of the winter to come, I'm a little scared.

Hi Christopher~~ I was just scrolling down the list, not much time to read blogs but when I saw yours I hip, hip hoorayed. I'm so glad Spot is back. She was gone way too long. I hope she learned her lesson--there's no place like home! Thanks for sharing the good news with us.

O-M-G. I have been in Atlanta and not checking the blog every day like usual. Congratulations! This news was as good as Georgia Tech (my daughter's school) beating Va Tech while I was there!!!!! Keep that cat home!!

It seems unlikely that she'll change her adventurous habits - no motivation since she ends up just fine every time. And you did ask for help from St Francis soon after she disappeared.

BTW Did you notice Father Damien finally made it to the official declaration of Sainthood? Some photos of 550 people in leis outside the Vatican were quite striking. As soon as I read the story I thought of the time you took your readers to Molokai. \

Grace I am not sure who is supposed to be learning something here, me or Spot.

Oh happy day singular, Chuck. Round two with Crawford has started.

Gail , I really wonder if there isn't some natural feline parting of the ways process trying to happen. When Spot came home the spotlets sniffed once and went on their way.

Bev, I had there wandering hormonal parts removed. That was supposed to be the invisible fence.

Annie, it could be that old age, if they make it will be the only thing to stop the adventure seeking. Now I have to go google Father Damien's sainthood.
