After it falls, sometimes sooner and sometimes later.
The snow diagnosed for last night really didn't show up, but this morning I saw another one of these short and intense snow bursts. This is the second time this has happened in a week. They seem so incongruous and out of place in the weathers that precede and follow. A short downpour I understand. These snow bursts are a bit freaky.
After that it proceeded to steadily warm up for the entire day. Melting began in earnest.
What had been buried began to emerge. This little Helleborus flower survived five measly degrees.
Glass bottle edging returns.
A moss covered boulder gets a cold drink.
Old stones warm in the passing sun while the snow slowly fades away.
Is winter over now?

Wow! That last picture made me think - are those moai in the rough? is that serpent looking at us? ....or even, did the snow make the snake-head look like a longhorn water buffalo? Your pictures are truly evocative.
I don't think winter is done with us just yet. Pecans have to bud out first. Indication that Spring is here.
Got most of potatoes planted, also shallots. More tomorrow.
Stay warm.
I really doubt if winter is over. It is nice that you have so many different things to look at while the snow melts. Happy GBBD.
Pomaika'i at one time I was trying to figure out a way to have a moai well head cover. Even in hypertufa it would have got to big and heavy to be practical.
Lola normally it snows well into April. This year?
Lisa this year has me so confused.
