Wow... that's a pretty shot. Is this some kind of special exposure, or are you close enough to a city that light bounces off of the clouds?

Interesting. I don't know how to set my camera for such shots. It must have been a cloudy night.

Kim that was with the shutter open for 10 seconds on a tripod. The few lights on the mountain are my "city" lights.

Yes, on cloudy nights the glow of Tennessee becomes much more distinct. The nearest town over there is Newport, Tn. That may be the bulk of the glow, but Sevierville/Pigeon Forge is over there and a bit further is Knoxville.

Christopher, What a beautiful picture. You are really getting good with your camera! I wonder what that very bright light is in the middle of the mountain (or maybe the valley). I can't imagine there would be any street lights out there.

Fantastic shot Christopher. It's almost like I was standing there. That's the way it looks in the mtns. Love it.

Hi guy:-)

I didn't realize that you were getting so much more snow than us. We got about an inch that melted by noon on the 21st, but I really don't know what has happened since (been in AL for over a week). Amazing that the weather changes so much with an additional 1,200 feet in elevation, huh?

I love the night sky pics, the one of the stars and this one!
