Cold Suspension

High of 19 with all day flurries adding another half inch of snow to the pack.

The little electric heater I bought to add warmth inside the cozy cabin is simply not capable of raising the temperature high enough against that kind of relentless onslaught where any type of construction mortar, glue, cement, paint or caulk would be at its optimum operating temperatures for application. Construction has come to a halt. I don't operate that well or that long at these temperatures either.

A layer of rime coats the forest. The trees rest.

I get restless.

It's a good thing those trees are sleeping so they are not aware of what is happening around and to them.

The cozy cabin looks a bit forlorn. But she is waiting patiently for warmer weather.
The pic with the trees looks so lovely. They look as though they would break if they were hit very hard. I've heard pine trees break into & fall to the ground when frozen like that.
Do take care & stay warm.

Christopher, your back is trying to tell you something, probably from all that shoveling. You gotta find some outlet for your OCD!! ((: Go build a table or something, or Old Man Winter will drive you nuts!
Be warm;

The cozy cabin will look very different in future flurries--glowing with a warm light from within, soup on the stove, felines cozy on blankets.

'Relentless onslaught' is very apt. The cozy cottage still looks like a haven to me. I guess it is a 'future' haven given its' internal temperature.

I like that angle of the cabin, Christopher. It really helps to imagine the plantings on that side. Still considering the Japanese maple? Maybe some type of pergola would protect it from the sheets of ice and snow that would slide off the roof onto it? It is time to dream of gardening, if we cannot actually do it.

Alas, but the lovely rime is merely an ephemeral event of the season. Spring's on the way! :)
