Released

Finally, the frigid Arctic grip has relented. A bright sun beams down warmth. Snow and ice melts rapidly like it should in a proper southern winter.

Two kitties went outside in the daylight for much more than a quick trip to do their business.

The sun plays shadows on the pristine white canvas.

I toy with the sunny gifts.

Before it quickly, I hope, fades into memory.

Memories from a green summer garden cast a promise of return.

The sun is out. The temperature has risen above freezing.

There is hope after Arctic Carolina.

Whooo hoooo...we had a 39degree day here with full sun. Amazing what it does for your mind.

It's amazing the euphoria a temperature rise and sun can produce. It's one reason I prefer a place with 4 seasons; it worth suffering a bit to get that rush when it abates! Glad things are looking up; maybe some cabin work will be possible after all!

Thanks Siria. Hopefully we will now return to a normal southern winter.

Lisa I think I heard the angels singing.

Bev I almost starting putting the spacing boards to get over the metal straps for the last bit of main girder detail work. Then I thought you need to let this wood warm up some more. Soon, very soon I can start work again.

35ยบ as I type. I'm so glad that mother nature has relented some. The sun always helps. She sure has provided a nice clean palate for artistry to be produced.
I bet the kitties sure liked going out if only for a brief time.
Take care.

Lola 31.6 as I type. There is no wind so we must be having an inversion where all the warm air rises to the top. I like those. Catching up with Florida almost.

The happiness in your voice is coming right through the screen! Hooray for kitties and shadow rings and warm sunshine. There is a feel to the sun now, it has that heat that we are used to and expect, even in winter.

Srsly! And you seem to be having so much fun in this blog post, I'm half inclined to think you'll miss this freezing weather when it's gone.

I feel quite a bit of relief for you and all the other garden bloggers I read, here in my semi-tropical west coast perch. It truly feels like everyone is holding their breath waiting to see how much more there is to endure. Can we finally exhale?

I just LOVE these pics, especially that tricky first one! This is what I enjoy about the snow so much...I think it's a fine canvas to show off everything's basic structure. Clean and contrasty.
