A Little Progress

I stepped away from the tile work for a few days because other things needed doing, then returned to finish the first round of cuts in the tile for the job.

The cutting went very well and my apprehension about cutting tile is greatly diminished.

Tomorrow I should get the bulk of the kitchen done. I have no where to go because my truck is in the shop getting a brand new $300 rubber hose. It would not surprise me in the least if the mice chewed a hole in it last winter. That is how long I have put off looking into why the check engine light has been on. Damn varmints!!

It has been a while since I looked up at this particular location. Why are there so many creatures trying to move into my cozy cabin before me? It's not caulked under there or painted yet. A long distance and careful eviction is needed.

I can think about that later when I know I have a really good can of high power bug spray. Yes I will use poison, hopefully a quick acting one.

Yes tomorrow, I will get more done.

I am all about poisoning a mean bug.

Tile is looking good.
Ouch, on the $$. Didn't know the "@%#^&" varmints ate such things.
Yep, a long range spray would be ok. Just don't stand right under what your aiming at. Sometimes these kind of varmints make their nest underground. I had to get help in getting rid of one when in N.C. They do a mean back up & push with that tail.

A friend of mine had a mouse set up housekeeping in her air filter. She parks her car in their attached garage. UGH.... She about fainted when she even thought of a mouse running across her feet while driving. Ha... Your cozy cabin is in a very natural setting. It must fit in nice. Your tile work is great.

There is a time when poison is called for, and this is one of them. My one and only tile job was on our kitchen floor and it turned out well, suprising to me. I had to spend hours staring at it and scribbling on paper to make sure everything lined up right. I friend lent me his portable rock grinder which made the cuts very easy, like butter.

The tile looks great! I would have used travertine tile myself. Every tile has its own design, very natural. Home depot has it for around $3 a foot. We have a hornet nest above our walk twice that big. I forget it is there.

Kitty for me mean bugs are all about location, location, location.

Lola I'm going to find the longest range spray can I can find.

Bev, the sun almost got out of viewing range, but now it is headed back.

Lisa that is exactly where the mice were living, in the air filter. They built a lovely nest and stocked their larder very well. I evicted them several times. Even found a dead mouse in there once.

Les out in the woods I would ignore the hornets. Directly over my head, sorry, you gotta go. I think I'm doing reasonably well for my first ever tile job.

Thanks Randy. I chose the tile based on the color of my dirt. How high over your walk? This nest is at 7 foot and I walk under there.

Hi Christopher! Good luck with the varmints eradication. I get wasps and yellow jackets in the house and can't figure where they might be coming from. Thank goodness I finally got rid of the mice though! (That is until they find another way in.) Your tile work is looking really good! Not much more to do, although the smaller space of the bathroom and kitchen might not be as easy as a large room. Can't wait to see the finished rooms!
